staring at the mountains eating dinner

we were dining at one of our favorite restaurants located smack dab on the tennessee river. as we're wont to do...our attention is drawn to the range of Lookout, Elder, and Signal mountain...the spaces in between...the remnants of tropical storm Faye to the south...the last of the sunlight fighting the dark clouds in return....and....well....OH YEAH! THE NEW BLUE CROSS BUILDING IN THE MIDDLE OF EVERYTHING!

still the same

i'm back from work....yea ....though i've labored in the valley....and guess what? i drove through downtown 'nooga....looked up to the west....embraced the early eve light - blocked by the way by...oh i don't know.....er...maybe....perhaps....oh yeah...it's the largest Blue Cross building EVER!

thanks Blue Cross you mom, you.....

i think i'll get in a car with my friends....light up a Camel....and speak ill of you....
i live in chattanooga. industry has fled..heck industry has been vanquished. we do have great entities who've moved in....occupied buildings (i know...they do pay rent at least) frequented local eateries for lunch (they all scuttle back to the outlying suburban environs in the eve) ....(oh no...he's becoming parenthetical again......) when they don't "brown bag" (....love the brown bag as it potentially saves four point eight cents per hour thereby helping to inflate a somewhat bloated IRA), all in the name of moving vast sums of money pried from so many wallets owned by the unsuspecting; holding the money and dispersing but a skoshi (a japanese term indicating an ort on ones plate) thereby allowing this behemoth to build...build..build; in such provocative ways including re-establishing Cameron Hill....an area of Chattanooga bulldozed away some years ago to make room for apartments, only to appear (Blue Cross we're talking about now...follow...follow my rants here) larger, with more grandeur and prominence than any other established business.

what does Blue Cross produce? not a thing. they simply move money from one entity to another, taking in a rather sizable sum in the meantime, gatekeeping (is that really a word, sandy?) the vast and stacked sums.

hooray for you Blue Cross! you take...give so little back...are flagrant in your stature insofar as showcasing your exponentially and multiplicative reserves, the while taking on the role of Mom. well, Mom....despite your objections otherwise...i'm still going to go out with my friends...smoke cigarettes and sneak back into the house late!

fight the Mom!
